Most calls have a reed that is the same thickness from end to end. Through a special process Primos has "shaved" the reed of this call so that the tip of the reed is much thinner alto saxophone reeds and tulip-shaped. This allows the call to be blown with much less air pressure while giving you a perfect sound. It also has a lot of volume which is needed for large fields or marshes.
